Geneva Elizabeth Rowe Grove, 95, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully at 5:40 PM Thursday at Avante' of Waynesboro with her daughters by her side.
She was born August 27, 1918 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late James O. and Lillian Conner Rowe.
Mrs. Grove was a member of Springdale Mennonite Church where she held numerous positions at an earlier age.
She worked outside the home in various jobs as well and provided child care within her home.
She spent most of her life as a wonderful homemaker.

Geneva Elizabeth Rowe Grove, 95, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away peacefully at 5:40 PM Thursday at Avante' of Waynesboro with her daughters by her side.
She was born August 27, 1918 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late James O. and Lillian Conner Rowe.
Mrs. Grove was a member of Springdale Mennonite Church where she held numerous positions at an earlier age.
She worked outside the home in various jobs as well and provided child care within her home.
She spent most of her life as a wonderful homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Timothy Grove on April 19, 2000 of 64 years, a son, Timothy Jerry Grove, a grandson, Bradley Scott Demastus, sisters; Catherine Rowe Balser, Viloa Rowe Balser, brothers; Marvin Rowe, Guy Rowe during WWII, three step-brothers; Russell Rowe, James Rowe and Elsworth Rowe.
Survivors include two daughters; Carol Wheeler and husband Dee Ray of Waynesboro, Sharon Sweet and husband Lewis of Smith Mountain Lake, four sons; Gene Earl and wife Lucy Hoyle Grove of Waynesboro, Cecil Emory Grove and wife Dory Mast Grove of Harrisonburg, Kenneth Paul Grove and wife Donna Layne Grove of Waynesboro, Billy Guy Grove and wife Sharon Nesmith Grove of Ashville, N.C., two sisters; Gladys Rowe Hayes of Greenville, Mary Ellen Showalter and husband Milton of Waynesboro, sister-in-law, Betty Sayre Rowe of Stuarts Draft, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 14, 2014 at Springdale Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin Goertzen and Lewis Sweet. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Sunday, April 13, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family wishes to give a special thank-you for the loving care provided by the nurses and staff of Avante' of which all were considered family to us and our mother.
