Peggy Mae (Hudson) Quick, 84, of Lyndhurst, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born in Nelson County on January 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Mel and Ella Mae (Bryant) Hudson.
Peggy was the owner of Quick's Used Furniture. She was a member and co-founder of Waynesboro Mennonite Church. Before owning the furniture store, Peggy worked a number of jobs and was a certified beautician. She will be remembered for being a free speaker, having an open mind, and a big heart.

Peggy Mae (Hudson) Quick, 84, of Lyndhurst, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born in Nelson County on January 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Mel and Ella Mae (Bryant) Hudson.
Peggy was the owner of Quick's Used Furniture. She was a member and co-founder of Waynesboro Mennonite Church. Before owning the furniture store, Peggy worked a number of jobs and was a certified beautician. She will be remembered for being a free speaker, having an open mind, and a big heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Quick, Sr.; a son, Louis R. Quick, Jr., son-in-law, James V. Harris and six siblings.
Survivors include her loving children, Rosemary Harris and Tim Quick and wife, Kay; a former daughter-in-law, Frances G. Clemmons; five grandchildren, Angel Payne, Louis R. Quick III, Barnaby Quick, William Rowe, Michael Rowe, Jr.; five great grandchildren; a grand dog, Bennett; as well as two sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Stanlee Kauffman officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Louis R. Quick III, Barnaby Quick, William Rowe, Michael Rowe, Jr., Chris Eavey and Michael Eavey.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the family store, 100 N. Magnolia Ave., Waynesboro. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Those wishing to pay their respects to Peggy may do so at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes on Sunday, October 16, 2016 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peggy's memory to the Waynesboro Mennonite Church, 1801 Monroe St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
